SUMMARY

Ruslan Russian 3 by John Langran (184 pages, full colour) is a continuation of the Ruslan Russian course to advanced level. It is suitable both for learners who have completed Ruslan Russian 1 and Ruslan Russian 2 and for other post intermediate learners. Ruslan Russian 3 continues the Ruslan 1 and 2 storyline. The action moves to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal in Siberia. Lyudmila and Ruslan go to visit Uncle Kolya, a pensioner in Irkutsk, for the summer. Lyudmila meets up with her former husband Igor Abramovich, who is now director of a factory in Baikalsk, Vadim is shooting a documentary film about pollution in the lake, and Ivan is helping Peter to test a new English cream for mosquitos. This is a 10 lesson course incorporating the necessary constructions and vocabulary for the UK AS and A2 level Russian school examinations as well as the International Baccalaureate. The Council of Europe level is B1 with some material at B2. There is a large variety of reading and listening material about Russia on cultural, literary and historical themes, as well as material for developing vocabulary and communication skills and suitable for interactive online training as well as classrooms
