Cambridge Latin Course Student Book 1

About this book

A new edition of the world-leading Cambridge Latin Course, re-energised for modern learners. Inspired by teacher feedback and research, the course provides today's learners with a more diverse and nuanced picture of Roman civilisation and history, while offering clear and extensive language support. The story takes place in Pompeii shortly before the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79, and follows the fortunes of Lucius Caecilius Iucundus, his wife Metella, and their household. The book combines grammar, vocabulary, and history with supporting graphics and a clear layout. Students can immerse themselves in the Roman world, prepare to engage with authentic texts and a wide range of characters, and start reading Latin from page one.
